Anime-Stop

Kicking Ass and Taking Names Since 2007

What is this site and how is it run?

Anime-Stop is an anime download site that uses Megaupload to share it's media. We try to off the best quality files that we can. Ongoing series often have 2 files posted for each episode. We post the 1st version of the episode that is subbed, and we later replace it with our archive group. There is a 24-48 hour delay between episodes being posted on the blog page and then being moved to the archive pages which can be found here

What is anime?

Anime is any animated program that originated in Japan. Other shows have been done in the "Anime Style"such as Avatar, but these are not actual anime. This site also has a few series from Asia that were not done in Japan.

What is Dubbed, Subbed, and Dual Audio?

Anime comes in 2 basic forums, subbed and dubbed. Subbed anime is in the original language, but has translated subtitles. Dubbed animes have had the voices redone to a language that is not the original, often English. There is also Dual Audio files. These have both the original audio track and the dubbed track. They also often come with subtitles. You can select which track you wantto play and choose if you want to subtitles to be shown or not. The method todo this varies from player to player, but most commonly you simply right click and go under the appropriate menu (Audio/Video/Subtitles/Stream).

How do I download from Megaupload?

First you need a download manager. I suggest Download ThemAll. Next go into the settings. Under main set max concurrent downloads to 1. Under Advanced set max segments to 1. Now open your megaupload pages and enter the codes. Once the download button appears right click and save with download them all. You can que up all the episodes you want and let them download. Only 1 will download at a time so there is no problem with megaupload. With the downloads limits how they are you should be able to get a bit this way without problem, or at least as much as the average person watches in a day.

With this setup there are no country limitations like with happy hour and you can just stop it if a new episode for an ongoing series comes out and then start it back up again.

How do I play the files?

I personally suggest the CombinedCoumminity Codec Pack. It has everything you need and many groups encode their work to be played using it. It will have 2 players with it, MPC which is more basic and Zoom which is more advanced. For people with slower computers that have problems with HD files you can get Core AVC, and or use KMPlayer. Both area bit more advanced in their setup and only suggested to more experienced users.

How can I find new anime to watch?

I personally have 2 ways of going about finding new anime. The 1st is to go down a list of the most popular anime untilI find one that catches my eye. There are 2 popular places to do this, ANiDB and MAL. On ANiDB you may want to go on the right had side and select "hide synonyms" to cleanup the list. The 2nd way is to find an anime similar to another anime that you have liked. You can do this on Anime-Planet and MAL. On both of them, go to the page of the series that you liked. Anime Planet has Recommendations listed right bellow. For MAL you will need to click the recommendations tab at the top.

Is this anime subbed, and which of these series comes first?

Some other useful stuff on AniDB. Bellow the tag cloud of a series page and above the episode list you will see a box. The tabs here contain lots of useful information. 1st the groups tab will show you how much of the series has been subbed/ripped and who did it. the next tab of interest is the last one. TheRelated Anime tab will tell you which shows/movies are related to this one andhow. In the top right of that box there is a link to relation graph. This is very helpful for complicated series such as slayers. Much of this info can also be found on MAL, but I simply prefer AniDB.

Will this anime have a sequal, and when does this anime air?

When will anime x be out, or will anime y have a sequel? The best place to find news like this is Anime NewsNetwork (ANN). To find the latest news on a series all you have to do is search for that series on the main page. To find start dates for series I suggest this page here. As for what day of the week an anime airs you can check the anime calendar on the Links Page.

Why don't you add feature x to the site?

Most sites have staff with coders, admins, uploaders, and mods. Anime-Stop Has me. I don't have to time to learn to code features and do everything else that needs to be done on the site.

Why isn't anime y subbed yet?

Probably no good raws. If you want to know exactly why ask the people that sub the anime.

What animes are like anime Z?

Search for the anime on Anime Planet and check the recommendations.
